Eagle Creek bustles with activity as marina offers rentals

Eagle Creek Park visitors got a taste of summer weather Sunday.

Families attended the free Pond Monsters program at the Northwestside park's Earth Discovery Center. Dawn VanDeman showed off insect larvae and other creatures that live in the ponds of Eagle Creek.

At the nearby marina, visitors could rent kayaks and canoes for the first time this season.

Eagle Creek Park, 7840 W. 56th St., is open daily, dawn to dusk. Cost of admission is $5 per car, $3 for bicyclists and walkers.
