An 81-year-old man was rescued Tuesday morning after his boat overturned on Eagle Creek Reservoir.

The man, whose name has not been released, was rowing his scull on the reservoir about 8 a.m. as part of his regular exercise routine, said Division Chief Rob Saunders, a spokesman for the Pike Township Fire Department.

About 8:30 a.m., his boat overturned on the far north end of the reservoir. Saunders said the man fell out of the boat and could not get it upright, so he clung to the side of the boat. Another boater saw the man and called for an emergency rescue.

Pike Township's dive team commandeered a rental boat for the rescue and pulled the man out of the water. Saunders said the man was not injured and was released after a medical evaluation.
